POV

"POV" confronts the mystique of modern art by making it accessible and interactive. Inspired by Marcel Duchamp, who revolutionized art by introducing everyday objects as art pieces, this installation invites participants to place any item on a pedestal. The AI then generates a museum-style plaque description for the item, effectively transforming it into a piece of art. This process demystifies art, showing that the value and message of art can lie in everyday objects, encouraging a broader appreciation and understanding of artistic concepts.

I designed and built the installation, including the technical integration of AI, specifically ChatGPT, which dynamically generates artistic descriptions for displayed objects. The setup includes a pedestal equipped with a Raspberry Pi and an e-ink screen, along with a ceiling-mounted light containing a camera. This blend of art and technology offers a unique, interactive platform that explores the intersection of creativity and perception.
